DO YOU KNOW JULIET'S THOUGHTS ABOUT...?

Image
Hello, everybody!! For this semester, my final assignment is here. In this assignment, I was given two options: one is chatting with a historical figure, author, or recognized character from a story, and the other is chatting with a chatbot using my voice for 3-5 minutes. I chose the first option and used the Magic School Character AI tool to chat and have a conversation with the character Juliet from Shakespeare's Romeo and Juliet. My task was to ask Juliet at least ten meaningful questions. This process was quite fun and offered a different way of learning that was thought-provoking. Next, I was asked to do a report according to the chat I had with the character and get feedback from the same AI's writing feedback tool and revise my report according to the feedback that was given to me along with the comments I've made about the suggested feedback given to me and which changes I've made. This process was quite hard for me because the feedback was not quite helpful for...

IS SOMEONE WANTS TO WATCH A MOVIE 🎬?

Image
Hi there again!  I'm here to share my favorite project that I've made with my group, İren and Halil . We were assigned to do a film review including its plot summary, analysis of some elements of the movie, etc. We chose the movie İncir Reçeli (Fig Jam) directed by Ayraç Ağırlar. My friend recommended this movie to us, and I immediately said yes, because this movie really has a special place in my heart. You can read the review we made by clicking the link below!! Fig Jam Film Review So, how was the process of making this review? I really enjoyed the process of making a review about this movie and it didn't feel like I was making a assignment, actually. 😅 I was familiar with the plot, characters, music, etc. of the movie, so I was able to express what things about the movie can be criticized or praised for the people who are thinking about watching this movie. My experience with Google Docs...? It wasn't my first time using Google Docs as a collaborative writing tool....

PSA ABOUT DEPRESSION

Image
Hello everybody!! 😸😸 Today I am going to share our project making a ''Digital Story'' with my group members, İrem and Halil. There were three options for us to choose and we wanted to do a PSA to bring awareness about depression rates in our country, Türkiye, because I think many people just ignore it or assume that it is a simple illness that everyone may go through.  What difficulties did I run into while making the PSA? Actually, my part was pretty easy compared to other members, I think. I was a narrator and did research to use the information about the rates of depression in Türkiye. However, there wasn't that much information in the near years; that was a shock for me because depression is prevalent among many teenagers and adults. Would I be using this for my students in the future? I think it is a great opportunity for learners to gain understanding about digital literacy about video/text/audio. Editing, combining photos or videos, voice recording, etc., ...

SPILL THE TEA 🍵?

Image
Hello everyone! Today I'd like to tell you about my first experience making a podcast!📟 You can click on the link below to listen our podcast and if you wanna join for our next ep don't hesitate to comment ☝️☕️ SPILL THE TEA EVERYONE My classmate İrem and I made a Vox-Pop style podcast. We asked 10 of our friends about their “most preferred coffee orders on a daily basis”. The answers were quite diverse; it was great to see that everyone has their own taste in coffee! We especially had a lot of fun adding the sound effects and interacting with people. Although the process was fun, editing the sounds and putting everything together was a bit challenging. It took time and patience for everything to be harmonious and fluid, but the end result was definitely worth it. As a pre-service teacher I think  that such practices can be very effective in the language classroom. Instead of just explaining listening and speaking skills, it can be a much more effective learning method for stu...

HAVE YOU EVER HEARD CYBERBULLYING?

Image
Hello again everyone ! Today I am going to share my experience which is making... an INFOGRAPHIC ✐. Our task was creating an infographic about Legal & Ethical issues in technology use. I needed to choose one of the sub-topics and I chose ''Cyberbullying''. Actually design process was really hard for me to complete because I've never done a project like this before. However, I think I did a great job for my first time doing an infographic. You can click the link in below to see my work!! Infographic about Cyberbullying So how was the process of making infographic for me? It was a process that both educational and challenging for me. The hardest part was being able to present complex information simply and effectively. It took me a time to create a design that would capture the reader's attention by using a balance of images and text. I think infographics can be a great benefit in the English classroom. For students, visually-rich materials can help them under...
